This EICR inspection safety checklist template from Health & Safety Zone helps electricians, test engineers and supervisors carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports in line with statutory requirements.

It covers the full range of checks needed for safe isolation, test equipment verification, competence, PPE, documentation and remedial action, referencing the BS 7671 Part 6, GS38 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. The checklist aligns with HSE guidance and the IET Wiring Regulations, and addresses the key safety dimensions of planning, competence, work environment, plant and equipment, personal protective equipment and emergency provisions.

Use this checklist for:

  • Pre‑inspection preparation – confirm risk assessments, isolation and competency.
  • In‑process testing – verify test sequence, equipment condition and record results.
